About
Hello and welcome! My name is Nile Watson, and I'm a passionate industrial designer based in Melbourne. I'm always on the lookout for new opportunities to grow my skills and experience, and I'm excited to share more about myself and my work with you.
With a 2:1 degree in Industrial Design from Coventry University and over 3 years of professional experience, I bring a solid foundation in design principles and a keen eye for aesthetics, functionality, and innovation. Throughout my studies and career, I've had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from indoor hydroponic gardens to consumer products for big-name brands like Joseph & Joseph.
One of my proudest accomplishments was my role as a Product Development Associate for Outdoor Toys EMEA at The Walt Disney Company, where I collaborated with cross-functional teams to develop and launch new outdoor toys across EMEA markets. I managed the product development process from concept to launch, ensuring compliance with brand guidelines and product safety standards. I also contributed to ongoing product line management, analysing sales data and consumer feedback to inform product improvements and line extensions.
Outside of work, I channel my creativity and passion for design into a variety of hobbies and interests, including restoring push bikes, bouldering, and competing in e-sports. These activities have taught me valuable skills such as discipline, focus, and teamwork, and have shown me the power of combining creativity with persistence to achieve incredible results.
As a multi-disciplinary designer, I'm particularly drawn to creating lifestyle products that inspire the senses and encourage mindful living. I'm a firm believer in using natural materials, simple geometries, and uncompromising quality to create designs that connect the imaginative with the practical, resulting in a uniquely warm and honest aesthetic.
Whether you're looking for a talented industrial designer to join your team or seeking freelance support for your latest project, I'm excited to hear from you. Please don't hesitate to get in touch to learn more about my work and experience. Thank you for considering my services, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
Best regards, Nile Watson
